Things you should know before your arrival

  • Pick-up service, which gets you from the Puerto Plata airport to the hotel for a fee of $50.00 USD  and from the Santiago airport for a fee of $130.00 USD. Choosing this service means someone will be waiting for you at the exit of the airport with your name on a sign the day of your arrival. If you do choose this service, please send us an email providing your travel itinerary. Phoenix Spa and Resort Condominium has a shuttle that takes you to restaurants, night clubs, and the beach in Cabarete and Sosua. The charge for this shuttle is $70.00 USD  per couple for the week. The shuttle runs from 8 AM to 11 PM. It is recommended to use our shuttle instead of renting a car since driving in Cabarete is not as easy as in the US or Canada.
  • The hotel has everything you need (kitchen supplies, bedding, beach towels, etc.) 
  • In case of emergency or sudden illness, at one’s disposal we offer 24-hour on site Doctor (all international health insurance accepted)
  • Exchanging your money at the airport would be unwise due to the high exchange rate; a staff member will gladly take you to a bank  that the hotel is affiliated with. The current rate is approximately 49.5 pesos=$1 USD. (For an exact exchange rate please confirm with front desk, exchange rate may change daily)
  • If you need to rent a car, we have a special rate for our clients. The rental location is at the airport. It’s called Nelly. The phone number is 809-586-0505 or 809-480-8871.   • The beach is not onsite; however, it is a safe, 10 minute walk or 3 minutes via our shuttle
  • There are plenty of activities to do in the area. We have a specialist that comes every night to offer all kinds of excursions at discounted prices for RCI members.
  • The grocery stores have similar U.S. produce
  • Restaurants and bars are 4 minutes away when taking the shuttle. There is a variety of restaurants, such as Italian, Greek ,and Mediterranean… Prices vary from extremely inexpensive to high end.
  • It is important to always take the liability insurance in the Dominican Republic when renting a car. Credit card companies do not cover liabilities…they only cover collisions.
